Send a link straight from another app to FoundThis! We’ll prepare your share page so you can send it on.
iPhone / iPad Shortcut
A one-time setup in Apple’s Shortcuts app adds Share with FoundThis! to the system share menu. It opens FoundThis! in your browser and prepares the link automatically.
You’ll add three actions: URL Encode, Text, and Open URLs. The Receive block at the top controls where links come from.
- Name the shortcut.
In Shortcuts, tap +. Open the menu beside the name, choose Rename, and enter Share with FoundThis!.
If you see “Describe a shortcut”, tap Edit at the top-right. You do not need to describe or generate anything.
- Allow links from the Share menu.
Open the shortcut’s Details and enable Show in Share Sheet. Return to the editor.
In the top Receive block, tap the blue input types. Select URLs and Text; deselect Apps and the other types.
Check before continuing
The Receive block should accept URLs and Text from the Share Sheet. If it says Nowhere, sharing is not configured yet. Recheck Show in Share Sheet in Details. - Add URL Encode.
Search the actions for URL Encode and add it. Leave its operation on Encode. Touch and hold its input field and choose Shortcut Input if it is not already selected.
You should see URL Encode Shortcut Input. If yours already looks like this, keep it. Do not add a second one.
- Add Text and paste the address.
Search the actions for Text and add it below URL Encode. Copy this address and paste it into the Text box.
Keep the cursor immediately after =. Tap Select Variable above the keyboard, then tap the blue output beneath the URL Encode action.
The Text box should contain the address followed by a blue variable token. Do not type “URL Encoded Text” yourself, and do not add a space or a new line.
- Add Open URLs.
Search for Open URLs and add it last. Its input should be the output of your Text action. If it is not, use Select Variable to choose the blue output beneath Text.
Finish editing with Done if shown, or return to your shortcut collection.
- Test it from a real link.
Open a public post in Safari, tap Share, then scroll down the actions list and tap Share with FoundThis!. Allow the site to open if asked.
FoundThis! should open and prepare that post. Running the shortcut by itself supplies no link, so test from the Share menu first.

Why isn’t there a one-tap Shortcut installer?
Apple requires shared Shortcut files to be signed or published through Shortcuts. A signed install link isn’t available yet. The steps above create the shortcut directly on your iPhone without an App Store account or subscription.
Android web app
Install FoundThis! from Chrome to make it available as a destination for shared links.
- Open this site in Chrome on Android, outside another app’s built-in browser.
- Open Chrome’s menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen → Install. A simple browser shortcut may not register as a share destination.
- In TikTok or another app, share the post’s link and open the system share menu. Choose FoundThis!. You may need to tap More.
- Once your link is ready, tap Share link and choose where to send it.
Availability depends on your browser and device. If FoundThis! isn’t listed, open the installed app once and retry. You can always paste a link on the homepage.
Share a link to FoundThis!, wait for it to be prepared, then tap Share link and choose Messages, email, Discord, or another available app. You choose the recipient and send. You can also customize the title, note, and preview first.
